My main reason for eating out so often is because I love food. The
process of shoving tasty things into my mouth and maneuvering my jaw in such a
manner so that my teeth may best crush up the bits of tasty things and send
them along the lengthy, squishy, mucus-lined journey through the series of
digestive tubes so that I may reap the alimentary benefits or gain another
subcutaneous layer of fat fills whatever part of my brain that feels joy with
    joy.
Wok & Go is a new restaurant that has opened in St
Stephen's shopping centre. The atmosphere is loud, crowded, frenzied, has
horrible seating (be prepared to share a table and make new friends)
but it does have amazing and very flavourful food. Not just good, but amazing.
The portions are enormous, the service is nearly nonexistent but efficient, and
the menu is long and varied. All meals are prepared with a standard mix of raw
ingredients based on noodles or rice, and packed into those little boxy
take-away containers ready to be thrown into the frying pan. You can request
extra ingredients plus a selection of sauces before it is cooked. Your meal is
cooked in what look like authentic Chinese woks at the front of the restaurant,
exactly as they do in cheap restaurants in China and you can watch if you like.
There is a bit of a wait, as it is cooked fresh to order, but the taste clearly
makes up for it. It tastes fresh and they don't add MSG. Chop-sticks are
available as well as plastic cutlery. On the menu are various items, my favourite is the Teriyaki Lime Beef
Salad Box. It is a warm beef salad with a Japanese soba noodle teriyaki sauce
and a twist of lime. AND it's 98% fat-free for those of you that care about
your health. This is also available with chicken or as a vegetarian option. I am a bit disappointed that they don't do more variety
or vegetarian options in their menu as I would really like to try out a more
varied selection of dishes. I do like that they do a special kids dish. One of the best things about the restaurant is that they
stay open until 11PM and they offer a delivery service.

Himself & I came into St. Stephens for a reason. We park, see that food shops and the movie theater validate parking. We chose to eat here. Himself orders while I hold down a table. He comes right back and tells me they're out of rice. How are you an Asian restaurant and not have rice?  Already my opinion of this place is going down. And then, as Himself is paying, that's when the guy decides to tell him that hey don't validate parking. Seriously?

So how's the food? Well, they do have unlimited Diet Coke- but no ice

What they do is get your noodle of choice, meat/veggies of choice and mix it into a wok w/ your sauce of choice. Then they put it into a box.

The actual noodles aren't bad, the beef isn't good so don't order it. The pole is an uninspired Chinese style BBQ pork and the chicken is just chicken.

I got a regular make your own box w/ 3 items as did Himself & with two drinks the total came to £19.90. However, it's a goodly amount of food and I'll have leftovers.

I'm giving it two stars because they ran out of food and don't validate parking.

Worst service, mean staff and there were only noodles, 3 pieces of chicken and half a broccoli

Wok & Go has just opened up in St Stephens in Hull this week. I have been once and it was fantastic. I will definately be going back again. It is affordable and everything on the menu is delicious!!! If you like rice or noodle dishes then this is the place for you. You make your order, either one of the dishes available on the menu, or you can create your own dish according to your tastes. The then cook it, and very quickly I must say! Its great, you're only waiting a couple of minutes! The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere of the place is great. Its a very modern and clean looking restaurant, so you feel comfortable to sit in and eat, or take out as you wish! I took my food home, and it took me 30 mins or so to get home, but when I opened up my noodle box, the food was still piping hot as if it had just been cooked, great! And the food itself, was delicious! I opted for the Hot Box, which was lovely... but very spicy as the name states!! Loved it. My mother had a box made to her own tastes as she only seems to like beef... So she had beef, veg, noodles and oyster sauce and she was equally pleased. We got regular boxes. I didn't get a small box because I thought it wouldn't be filling enough, but turns out a regular box is more than enough for a meal! Great food, great service, good prices. Will definately be going back and recommend to anyone, unless you don't like noodles or rice of course...
